Annie has been building her portfolio of theatre directing over the last 10 years, starting with one-act plays at Dolphin Theatre. Her previous shows include This is How it Goes (Mairangi Players, 2010), A Few Good Men (Dolphin Theatre, 2011), The God of Carnage (Dolphin Theatre, 2013), The Kings of the Gym (Titirangi Theatre, 2014), Bent Not Broken (for Mental Health Awareness Week 2016 at Te Pou), The Sure Thing (Ellerslie One Act Play Festival, 2017) and Baskerville (Dolphin Theatre, 2018).

Annie started out singing in musicals then found herself doing a bit of acting and working backstage at Dolphin Theatre, where she stagemanaged and ran lights and sound for many years. She has expanded her portfolio to include directing, which she enjoys immensely.

“Directing The Bach is realising a long-held dream for me – I spent my formative years caravanning and baching all over the Coromandel in the summer holidays, so I’m thrilled to finally be able to direct this play – thanks so much to Ellerslie for giving me the opportunity. Thanks to Carleen, Vicky, AJ and Mark for coming on board and realising these characters so well – Simon, Michael, Sally and Hana couldn’t
have better stewards than the four of you. Thanks to my partner in crime, Lisa, for being there every step of the way, Julia for the generous love and support from the sidelines, and Steve, who spends lonely Sundays without me while I pursue my passion. Love to you all.”
