James Bell

James is a theatre director inspired by innovative storytelling. He trained in theatre craft at the University of Auckland and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and has directed a range of works from Shakespeare to new writing. His production of The 39 Steps (2013) won Best Comedy at the 2014 ACTT awards and Leo Rising (2014) was voted audience favourite at the wildcard performance of the Auckland Short+Sweet Festival in 2014.
