Originally from Christchurch, Merrin has been involved in theatre for about 25 years, having received qualifications in Directing for Stage, Television Production, Theatre and Musical Theatre, having lived and worked broadly in the arts all over New Zealand and overseas. She has written and performed extensively a one-woman show, Bent Not Broken, and intends to adapt it for screen in the near future.
After living out of a suitcase for almost ten years, Merrin has now planted strong roots here in Auckland.
She completed a short course in directing at RADA in 2013 and was an intern at London Globe, Royal Opera House and for Kevin Spacey’s 48-hour theatre project at The Old Vic, where she learnt first-hand about producing theatre from some of the UK’s best, before returning to New Zealand.
Her most recent stage appearances have been in Big Fish at Papakura Theatre, Things I Know To Be |
